first_imgMALIN GAA NEWS: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGThe club held both its minor board and club annual general meetings last week. David Gallagher stood down as chairman and was replaced by Pat McLaughlin (F). The club would like to express their sincere thanks to David who has served the club committee in various roles with distinction for a long number of years, his work and commitment for the club and committee will be sorely missed.He remains part of the club and hopes to enjoy many more successful years as member and supporter. Seamus McLaughlin (Fildara) is taking on the role of vice-chair. Denis Doherty ® also stood down as registrar after a long number of years in the role; Paul Gallagher will take over as registrar. Again the club would like to place on record it’s thanks to Denis and wish him all the best in the future. The committee reappointed Elaine McColgan as secretary, with Linda McColgan as vice-secretary. Linda will also be part of the P.R.O team along with Brendan Monagle. John Byrne remains as treasurer, with Susan Byrne as assistant treasurer. The position of Irish and cultural officer, which was also vacant last year, is yet to be filled. Kate Kelly has taken on the position of Health and Wellbeing officer, a position that Shaun McLaughlin (F) had been in. The club would like to thank Shaun, who serves the club so well as referee, for his work in the health and wellbeing role for the past few years. Other outgoing members included Patrick Houten, who has helped run the club’s very successful Lotto for a long number of years. Patrick will stay in the role until Christmas and the committee will have a big job trying to replace him. Again the club would like to express their gratitude to Patrick for all his hard work.The OPERATION TRANSFORMATIONThe Malin Operation Transformation 5k Walk/Run had to be cancelled at the weekend due to the inclement weather. It will be rescheduled so please keep an eye out on the Facebook page and also on the club’s Facebook. UNDERAGEThe autumn parish league finals had to be cancelled last weekend due to the bad weather. The U6, U8 & U10 Girls Training takes place every  Saturday from 11am to 12pm. Girls to take €2 and water to each session. Under six boys training is on every Sunday from 10-11.15am.JIVING LESSONSJiving Lessons continued upstairs in the Clubhouse on Monday and will run for one more week at 8.30pm to 9.30pm, €5 per person.LOTTO There was no winner of this week’s jackpot of €600. The numbers drawn were 5-7-6-1-3-2-4 and the €50 winner was Philip Quigley, Ungall Bridge with the €20 sellers prize going to D and P McLaughlin, Drumcarbit. Next week’s jackpot is €650.SHOPThe club shop is open every Saturday from 12.00 – 2.00 and Sunday from 11.20 –  2.00 or alternatively contact Susan Byrne on 9370638 or 0867832242 .
