At fundraiser for Japan help to fold 1000 cranes

first_imgThree Hough neighborhood women have organized a paper-crane event at Pop Culture, in downtown Vancouver, on March 27 to raise awareness and money for the Japan earthquake tragedy.“In Japanese tradition, making one thousand paper origami cranes grants a wish,” write Eileen Cowen, Sunrise O’Mahoney and Jamie Lutz Carroll. “Join us to make paper cranes in the wish for health and recovery for Japan and the people after the massive earthquake, tsunami, and impending nuclear disasters have taken their toll.”Money raised at the event will go to Mercy Corps, a Portland relief agency now working in Japan.
