Oppo has finally launched the R17 Pro in its home market, China on Thursday. The newly launched — as rumoured — comes with waterdrop screen and triple cameras on the rear panel. Another highlight of the Oppo R17 Pro is the SuperVOOC support. The smartphone has been launched at a price tag of CNY 4,299, which roughly translates to Rs 44,000.The Oppo R17 Pro the second smartphone to sport three cameras on its rear panel, the first one being Huawei’s Pro Pro. On the rear panel, the phone consists of a primary sensor of 12-megapixel with f/1.5-2.4 aperture and dual pixel, PDAF and OIS support. The secondary camera comes with a 20-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.6. Lastly, the third sensor is actually a TOF 3D stereo camera, which so far has been placed only on the front to bring 3D face unlock feature to the phone. Oppo, however, claims that the third TOF 3D stereo camera on the Oppo R17 Pro can be used to capture 3D pictures.The Oppo R17 Pro comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and screen to body ratio of 91.5 per cent. The smartphone also comes with a waterdrop notch which was also seen on the Oppo F9 and F9 Pro previously. The screen of the Oppo R17 Pro is protected with Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 6. The smartphone comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor as also seen on Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX.On the hardware front, the Oppo R17 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 710 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage space can’t be expanded via a microSD card, the company has confirmed. On the software front, the Oppo R17 Pro runs Android 8.1 Oreo with the company’s own ColorOS 5.1 skin out-of-the-box.advertisementThe Oppo R17 Pro is backed by a 3,700 mAh battery — which the company says has been divided into two part of 1,850 mAh each to enable 50W SuperVOOC charging technology — which debuted with the Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition. With the 50W SuperVOOC charging technology, Oppo promises to charge 40 per cent in just 10 min.The smartphone as already mentioned has been launched for a price of CNY 4,299, which is roughly around Rs 44,000. The smartphone will go on sale in mid-October in China. As of now, there’s no official word on if the Oppo R17 Pro will hit the Indian shores or not.
